Improvements in treating prostate cancer with technology

Last updated on February 12, 2020

Intel employee Bryce Olson was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer.
When the standard of care didn’t work, Bryce turned to genomic sequencing which allowed his doctors to identify specific genetic drivers of his disease and identify specific treatments and clinical trials that were a fit for his specific cancer. This precision medicine approach helped send his cancer into remission for several years.

In a phone call with a close friend yesterday I learned that her son was having surgery today for stage 3 prostate cancer.  In her voice, I could hear the fear and concern for her son.  Also, earlier in the week I interviewed Linda who will be on an upcoming episode and learned about some of the newer treatments.  I did some searching and found this interesting story and wanted to share it with my community.   I hope you enjoy it!!
